The Sudanese army shot down suicide drones from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeting Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazira State, at dawn on Sunday, media cited by Bajnews reported.
The attack comes as clashes between the Sudanese army and the RSF continue in several regions of the country. Wad Madani was retaken by the army at the beginning of 2025 after being controlled by the paramilitaries for more than a year, according to Bajnews.
The incident comes days after the Sudanese army shot down a drone from Ethiopia in Blue Nile State on 22 October. The presence of drones in the conflict has also been reported in Khartoum and Darfur.
