Ghanaian finance expert Desmond Bredu advises people to plan their festive budget early to avoid financial difficulties after the celebrations. On TV3, he recommended starting to save in January, or three to six months before December, and choosing which events to attend, according to his comments on The Afternoon Show.

Ghanaian finance and investment expert Desmond Bredu has urged Ghanaians to plan their end-of-year spending now to avoid financial difficulties after the holidays. Speaking on TV3’s The Afternoon Show on Monday, 26 October, he advised young people to choose the events they really want to attend rather than going to multiple shows featuring the same artists, according to 3news.

Desmond Bredu recommended that salaried workers calculate the total cost of their planned activities and spread it over the remaining months before December. He said it was preferable to start saving in January, while noting that people could also organise their finances three to six months before the holidays. He also advised people to opt for communal meals or celebrations at home rather than borrowing, while taking school fees and other essential expenses into account, according to 3news.
