The French government is renewing the €100 fuel allowance for workers who make extensive use of their vehicles, covering the period from October to December 2026. Previous recipients will receive it automatically, while new applicants can apply from 27 October, according to the French Economy Ministry.
The reference taxable income ceiling is rising from €16,880 to €22,770 per household share. The allowance is open to people fiscally resident in France who declared a salary or employment income in 2024, provided they travel more than 15 kilometres between their home and workplace, or drive more than 8,000 professional kilometres a year. The scheme, governed by a decree of 15 October 2026, also applies to foreign workers who are fiscally resident in France.
According to the Economy Ministry, the allowance amounts to about 40 cents per litre over three months of average consumption. It follows an initial €100 allowance paid from April to September, equivalent to 20 cents per litre over six months.
