The health of Bekoto, a member of the Malagasy musical group Mahaleo, has deteriorated since the assault that injured his head in 2023. His son Popoly says the artist must undergo thorough examinations and could travel abroad in November, reports L’Express de Madagascar.

Bekoto’s health, the singer and a member of the Malagasy group Mahaleo, has deteriorated and requires thorough examinations and hospitalisation, his son Popoly told L’Express de Madagascar. Travel abroad is being considered in November to continue the examinations and treatment.

The artist’s health problems date back to an assault in Antsirabe in 2023, during which he was struck on the head with a piece of wood, according to his son. His family has tried to treat him at HJRA hospital in Antananarivo since then.

Bekoto continues to take part in the European tour by Mahaleo and Taranaka, which runs until December. Singer Dama said he wanted to prevent his stage partner from remaining alone in Madagascar during this period.
