Aurélien Tchouaméni says there was no fight with his Real Madrid team-mate Federico Valverde, despite rumours circulated last season. The French midfielder acknowledges tensions in the dressing room but considers the media coverage excessive, according to La Nouvelle Tribune.

Aurélien Tchouaméni, the French midfielder at Real Madrid, denied having had a fight with his team-mate Federico Valverde. “There was no fight like people said,” he said in the latest episode of his show The Bridge, broadcast on Disney+ and YouTube, La Nouvelle Tribune reports.

The player nevertheless acknowledged tensions and “minor scuffles” in the Real Madrid dressing room. He accused the media of exaggerating the episode, saying that the slightest incident takes on considerable significance at Real Madrid. The club’s management had fined each of the two players €500,000, according to La Nouvelle Tribune, which says they have since regularly been named in the same line-up.
