Real Madrid plans to send several players to the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on 26 October, after two editions marked by its absence or limited representation. Four of the club’s players are among the men’s award contenders, according to L’Équipe, cited by Seneweb.
Real Madrid will be represented at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled for Monday 26 October in London, the day after its La Liga match against FC Barcelona, according to French sports daily L’Équipe. Several of the Spanish club’s players are expected to attend after two editions marked by a limited presence or a complete absence.
Four Real Madrid players are among the nominees for the men’s Ballon d’Or: Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Marc Cucurella. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is nominated for the best goalkeeper award, while Yan Diomandé and Felicia Schröder are competing in the best young player and best young women’s player categories respectively.
The club boycotted the 2024 ceremony after the award went to Rodri ahead of Vinicius Junior. In 2025, Caroline Weir was its only representative. The ceremony follows the reported expected presence in London of Lamine Yamal’s family and friends, reported on 22 October in the article about Lamine Yamal.
