Strikes attributed to Saudi Arabia killed at least 14 people and injured 10 others in Yemen’s al-Jawf province, according to Almasirah. The Houthis then called for Aden airport to be evacuated after a missile fell inside its perimeter, according to a police source cited by AFP.
At least 14 people were killed and 10 others injured in strikes attributed to Saudi Arabia in al-Jawf province, north-western Yemen, according to Almasirah, a channel affiliated with the Houthi rebels. Women and children were among the injured, according to the pro-Iranian media outlet.
The bombardments hit, among other places, a petrol station and a market in the province, which borders Saudi Arabia. They came a day after Houthi strikes targeting Saudi Arabia, including its largest refinery and the Defence Ministry in Riyadh, amid a resumption of hostilities between the two sides since July after four years of calm.
The Houthis also called for the immediate evacuation of Aden airport in southern Yemen, accusing a Saudi military cargo aircraft of transporting weapons there. A Houthi missile fell within the airport perimeter without hitting the aircraft, which took off shortly afterwards, according to a police source cited by AFP. The coalition supporting the Yemeni government, for its part, announced that it had intercepted a ballistic missile launched towards Taif by the Houthis, after reporting the interception of two other missiles on Tuesday. These exchanges followed explosions reported in Riyadh and the Houthi announcement of a strike on the Ras Tanoura refinery.
