A woman was stabbed in the right flank on Thursday 29 October at about 3.25pm on Avenue Simon-Bolivar, in Paris’s 19th arrondissement, while she was out walking with her six-year-old daughter. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the incident to CNEWS, according to Seneweb. The attacker, whose face was partly concealed, grabbed the victim by the throat before stabbing her and then fled. An investigation has been opened for attempted murder.
The victim was taken to Bichat Hospital with a puncture wound. Her life was initially in danger but was no longer at risk after she received treatment. A police source quoted by Le Parisien raised the possibility of an apparently motiveless attack.
