By the AFREEQUE newsroom, based on Senenews

A US State Department report describes cases of forced labour, sexual exploitation and fraudulent recruitment in Senegal, particularly involving children entrusted to relatives. The document also cites abuse in schools, tourism, gold mining and migration routes, according to Senenews.
The report says traffickers could misuse the practice of entrusting a child to relatives to support their education and integration, in order to subject them to forced labour or sexual exploitation. It also mentions sexual abuse attributed to some teachers, as well as the exploitation of children in Dakar, Saint-Louis, Cap Skirring and Petite Côte, according to the US State Department.
