United Front denounces AFC/M23 reorganisation in DRC

The United Front for the DRC denounces the restoration of relations between Belgium and Rwanda and the political reorganisation around Joseph Kabila and AFC/M23. It accuses this alliance of threatening the peace process in the east of the DRC, according to the movement’s statement.

The United Front for the DRC denounces the reorganisation of the National Resistance Front (FRN), announced on 12 October 2026 around Joseph Kabila, the former Congolese president, and three figures from AFC/M23: Corneille Nangaa, Bertrand Bisimwa and Sultani Makenga. The grouping is considering the use of force, according to a statement by the United Front for the DRC reported by Actualité.cd.

The United Front also criticises the restoration, on 22 September, of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Rwanda, which it accuses of supporting AFC/M23 in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It believes the decision came despite the human toll of violence linked to Rwandan military interference, according to the same statement.
