Germain Kambinga calls for support for Tshisekedi against Kabila’s Front

The president of the political movement Le Centre, Germain Kambinga Katomba, called on Congolese leaders to rally behind Félix Tshisekedi to defend institutions against Joseph Kabila’s Front for the Refounding of the Nation. The call was made on 14 October in Kinshasa, Beto reports, after a meeting with Guy Loando Mboyo.

Germain Kambinga Katomba, president of the Congolese political movement Le Centre, called on political leaders in the Democratic Republic of Congo to rally behind President Félix Tshisekedi to defend national institutions. He issued the call on Wednesday 14 October 2026, after a meeting in Kinshasa with Guy Loando Mboyo, Minister of State in charge of Relations with Parliament and Land Use Planning, Beto reports.

The position comes as former president Joseph Kabila leads the Front for the Refounding of the Nation (FRN), a new political movement announced in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The discussions between Germain Kambinga and Guy Loando focused mainly on this political context, according to Beto. The Front for the Refounding of the Nation is led by Joseph Kabila.

He says the initiative rules out any prospect of dialogue with Félix Tshisekedi’s government and serves Rwanda’s interests, but a rebel march on Kinshasa remains unlikely.
