Moïse Nyarugabo, a senior figure in the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN), says parties close to Joseph Kabila have disassociated themselves out of fear of reprisals by Félix Tshisekedi’s government. He says the movement has not committed any political group and refers to arbitrary arrests and detentions, according to Kivumorningpost.
Moïse Nyarugabo, a senior figure in the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN), a movement chaired by former Congolese president Joseph Kabila, attributed on Thursday 15 October 2026 the disassociation of some political parties and platforms close to the former head of state to fears of reprisals by Félix Tshisekedi’s government, according to a message published on his X account.
Moïse Nyarugabo said the creation of the FRN did not commit any political party or platform, but only identified individuals. He said he respected the positions expressed by those who had disassociated themselves. The FRN is presented as Joseph Kabila’s new political movement, which is leading a new armed coalition against Tshisekedi.
