Rural women mobilised to protect forests in Langwa
By the AFREEQUE newsroom, based on Lepotentiel

International Rural Women’s Day was marked in Langwa, Maniema, with a focus on women’s participation in forest protection and local development. The ceremony, chaired by Provincial Gender Minister Alexis Kingombe Tchomba, was organised by the Provincial Division of Gender, Family and Children, according to Lepotentiel.
In Langwa, rural women have been urged to strengthen their participation in forest protection and community development initiatives. Tcheusi Puwa believes their mobilisation should contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources, which are essential to the life of communities.
The choice of Langwa aimed to bring awareness-raising activities closer to women living in rural areas and highlight their contribution to local development, Tcheusi Puwa explained. She also invited them to take pride in their role in society.
