A participatory survey by the Perceptis Foundation indicates that 95% of respondents want the Guinean Football Federation to publish its accounts every year. It also shows that 72% follow the national league little or not at all and that 51% want clubs and supporters involved in the election, according to results presented by Guinéenews.

A participatory survey by the Perceptis Foundation indicates that 95% of respondents want the Guinean Football Federation, Féguifoot, to publish its accounts every year. Financial transparency tops the expectations directed at the new leadership, Guinéenews reports.

The future president’s programme is considered more important than his profile by 64% of participants. In addition, 72% say they follow the national league only through the results or do not follow it at all, while 51% want clubs and supporters to participate in the election of the federation’s leadership.

The Perceptis Foundation presents the survey as an open consultation on the governance of Guinean football. As the number and profile of respondents were not specified, its results cannot nevertheless be considered representative of all football stakeholders, according to Guinéenews.

These expectations have been expressed as Mamady Doumbouya was elected to lead Guinean football for four years. Guinea’s Sports Minister also called on 27 October to end Féguifoot’s crises.
