The National Commission for Civic Education and Development submitted its annual progress report to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah. Its chairman Bindi said the financial report would be submitted after the ongoing audit, according to Sierra Loaded.

Sierra Leone’s National Commission for Civic Education and Development (NACCED) submitted its annual progress report to the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah. The commission’s chairman, Mr Bindi, handed over the document to him at a ceremony also attended by the deputy minister and permanent secretary, according to Sierra Loaded.

Mr Bindi said the commission had chosen to submit its report to the ministry first before sharing it with its international development partners. He also announced that the institution’s financial report was ready and would be handed to the minister after the ongoing audit was finalised.

The NACCED chairman also recalled that a retreat held earlier in 2026 had enabled the commission to establish its strategic roadmap and define its priorities for the period ahead. He reaffirmed his commitment to meeting the institution’s legal obligations and strengthening transparency in its management.

Chernor Bah welcomed the commission’s organisational progress and said he would review the report. The minister also said he would examine ways of presenting NACCED’s progress to the President of the Republic, while promising to continue institutional support for civic education initiatives in the country.

The submission of the report comes a few days after the publication of an article on local finances in Sierra Leone, covering recommendations by the National Audit Commission. It also comes amid a sequence marked by the training of Sierra Leonean police investigators in criminal law, announced on 4 November.
