The Ogun State Police brought seven men before the Ilaro Magistrate Court for unlawful possession of a firearm, the alleged abduction of two Amotekun operatives and the theft of a firearm, Daily Post reports. The alleged offences were committed on 14 and 15 October in the Alagbon area of Owode-Afon.

The accused, aged between 22 and 45, face six charges, including conspiracy, abduction and disturbing the public peace. The prosecution alleges that they abducted two operatives of the Ogun State security network, AMT Salami Yakubu and AMT Abelewa Soliudeen, and then stole a locally made rifle valued at 150,000 naira from their post.

The seven men have not yet entered pleas. Magistrate F.A. Ojelade ordered that they be remanded for 60 days, as the court could not hear the abduction-related charges. The hearing was adjourned until 15 January 2027, according to Daily Post.
