Saudi strikes kill at least four people in Sanaa

By , based on Seneweb

Strikes attributed to Saudi Arabia killed at least four people in a home in Sanaa and wounded several others in an attack on a cement plant in the province. The Houthi channel Al-Masirah also reported around 20 strikes on Mokha, while the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted three Houthi missiles targeting the kingdom.

Yemeni Houthi rebels reported on Saturday that Saudi strikes on Sanaa, the Yemeni capital they control, had killed at least four people and wounded several others. Their Al-Masirah channel attributed the strikes to Saudi Arabia and reported around 20 raids on Mokha, a coastal city in the west of the country, according to AFP, cited by Seneweb.

A home was hit in Sanaa, while another strike on a cement plant in Hamdan district, in Sanaa province, reportedly killed and wounded several people. The attacks came after the coalition led by Riyadh intercepted three missiles fired by the Houthis towards Riyadh, Taif and Yanbu, according to AFP.

Saudi civil defence had earlier issued alerts over a potential risk in four regions in the west of the kingdom, including Taif, Yanbu and Mecca. The Saudi-led coalition has been intervening since 2015 alongside the Yemeni government against the Houthis, in a war that has caused a major humanitarian crisis. After a lull linked to the 2022 ceasefire, fighting resumed in July, according to AFP.
