A Nigerian army air strike killed 15 terrorists north-west of Pulka, in Borno State, on 23 October 2026. The operation, carried out after intelligence about their movements, was followed by ground operations, according to Captain Mohammed Goni, spokesperson for Operation Hadin Kai.

The Nigerian army says it killed 15 terrorists in an air strike carried out north-west of Pulka, in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. The operation was conducted at around 11.50pm on 23 October 2026 by troops from Operation Hadin Kai, according to Captain Mohammed Goni, acting spokesperson for the joint force deployed in north-east Nigeria.

The strike was launched after what were considered credible intelligence reports were received and movements by terrorists in the Pulka area were confirmed. Ground operations were then carried out to inspect the area and consolidate military gains, Mohammed Goni said in a statement reported by Punch.

The operation is part of the Nigerian army’s offensive against armed groups in the country’s north-east. The Operation Hadin Kai command said it intended to maintain pressure on the fighters, prevent their movements and encourage the return of economic activity in affected communities. The announcement came on the same day that the army also sent 600 soldiers to train in India.
