Moroccan minister Ouahbi sent Madrid firm messages on Ceuta, Melilla and Moroccan minors, while reaffirming Morocco’s attachment to the territories. The article comes amid discussions on the future of Moroccan-Spanish relations, according to Moroccan media outlet Al Alam.

Morocco’s Justice Minister, Abdellatif Ouahbi, reaffirmed that Morocco maintained its claims to Ceuta and Melilla, two Spanish cities that Rabat considers part of its territory. He said the kingdom wanted to resolve its disputes with Spain through dialogue, in an interview with Asharq News.

Abdellatif Ouahbi also criticised Spain’s handling of issues related to immigration and Moroccan minors. The statements came as migration issues and the status of Ceuta remain at the centre of tensions between the two countries, notably after calls by the Moroccan Organisation for Human Rights for action in Ceuta.
