Congolese rapper Makhalba Malechek says he wants to show, through ‘Belle Afrique’, an image of the continent based on its cultural wealth, intellectual potential and the creativity of its youth. He presents the single, made with artists Oupta and Mariusca La Slameuse, as a way of highlighting a ‘strong, educated, creative and innovative’ Africa, in an interview with the Congolese Information Agency (ACI).
Makhalba Malechek also advocates relations with other continents based more on mutual recognition, cooperation and balanced partnerships. He believes Africa should not be presented solely as a continent seeking aid and stresses that it has resources and knowledge to bring to its exchanges with the rest of the world, according to his statements to ACI.
The single is part of preparations for the album ‘Tant attendu’, whose prospects Makhalba Malechek discusses in the same interview with ACI.
