Luanda Villa have recruited 15 players to strengthen their squad and target promotion to Kenya’s top division. The club are preparing for next season despite the indefinite suspension of the second-tier national championship, following a legal challenge to Darajani Gogo’s relegation, reports Citizen.

Luanda Villa have recruited 15 players to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026-2027 season of Kenya’s National Super League, combining experienced players with young talent, coach Leonard Saleh told Citizen. The club are targeting promotion to the Premier League.

Preparation, which lasts eight to 10 weeks, is continuing as the start of the competition has once again been suspended by a court ruling obtained by Darajani Gogo. Luanda Villa were due to host Equity Bank FC on the opening day before the suspension was announced on Friday evening.

The club finished 13th last season with 43 points, four points clear of the relegation zone. Leonard Saleh, who briefly left when his contract expired, has been reappointed and is calling on the management, supporters and partners to find a lasting solution to the financial difficulties that usually weaken Luanda Villa during the season.
