The Kenya Red Cross has opened health points in the six camps for displaced people in Moyale, Marsabit County, Kenya. Its volunteers are screening children and mothers for malnutrition, according to an update published by the organisation on social media.
The organisation is also distributing Super Cereal, a fortified food intended for nutritional support programmes, as well as household items and hygiene products. It is also helping families separated by displacement to reconnect through its family tracing and reunification programme.
The operations target families who fled insecurity linked to cross-border clashes between Kenya and Ethiopia. Hundreds of Ethiopians had already fled the tensions to Kenya through Moyale, according to a previous publication on 23 October.
