Arsenal fear Bukayo Saka will be out for at least six weeks after suffering a quadriceps injury during the 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The England forward is due to undergo another magnetic resonance imaging scan, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told the BBC.

Arsenal fear that Bukayo Saka, their England international winger, will be out for at least six weeks because of a quadriceps injury sustained on Wednesday during the 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The 25-year-old is due to undergo another MRI scan on Friday, according to BBC Sport.

Fluid around the muscle is making an assessment difficult, but initial examinations have raised fears of an even longer absence. Saka will miss Saturday’s home match against Everton in the Premier League and could also be unavailable for England’s next Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta called for patience before confirming the length of the absence. He explained that Saka’s difficulty walking without pain and his limited movement were not good signs.

The concern comes after initial fears over a thigh injury to Saka, reported on 21 October during the Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
