A group of armed men believed to be ADF rebels crossed Mwenye, in Lubero territory, North Kivu, on the night of 30 October. The Local Youth Council is calling on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement, according to Actualité.cd.

Armed men believed to be rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) were reported on the night of Thursday to Friday 30 October in the Mwenye groupement, in Lubero territory, North Kivu, according to the Mwenye Local Youth Council, quoted by Actualité.cd. They are said to have come from Losse before heading towards Kiregha, with neither their final destination nor their intentions known.

The president of the Local Youth Council, Prince Kasyano, called on residents to immediately report any suspicious movement to the security services. He said several residents had already left their homes for fear of incursions or further violence, and called for a permanent military position to be installed in Mausa to monitor the area.

The report comes after the ADF takeover of Makumo and the displacement of residents, reported on 29 October in Lubero territory. Mwenye residents are now calling for preventive measures to prevent the incursions from spreading to their area.
