Air Seychelles has implemented a pay rise of between 7% and 12%, depending on salary level, following approval in March. Some first officers are challenging the gap with captains’ pay, however, Transport Minister Véronique Laporte explained, according to SBC.

Air Seychelles has given all its employees a pay rise of between 7% and 12%, with the lowest-paid workers receiving the largest increase. The measure, approved in March, was not implemented until September because of the crisis in the Gulf region, SBC reports.

Some employees of the Seychelles airline, mainly first officers, are nevertheless challenging the persistent pay gap with captains. The Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Veronique Laporte, explained the pay differences between the two categories of pilots, according to SBC.
