More than 20 senior employees of Yas Tanzania have completed a leadership training programme designed to prepare them for leadership responsibilities, the Tanzanian telecommunications operator said. The training was organised with Strathmore Business School, a Kenyan business school, according to Yas Tanzania.

The programme covers team leadership, performance management and strategy execution. It aims to build a pool of internal candidates for leadership positions and address skills gaps. Yas Tanzania Chief Executive Officer Pierre Canton Bacara said preparing employees for senior responsibilities contributed to business continuity and the quality of decision-making.

Janet Igogo, Yas Tanzania’s head of training and development, described the initiative as part of an employee development strategy targeting, among others, department heads. The company plans to continue the programme and other training to prepare more employees for future leadership roles.
