In Monrovia, Liberian officials, donors and rights advocates warned that threats facing women human rights defenders persist despite the end of the ENSURE Project. The reflection meeting organised on 22 and 23 October by the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation highlighted the need to continue efforts after funding ended, reports FrontPage Africa.

The ENSURE Project, carried out from November 2024 to October 2026 in Liberia and Sierra Leone, worked on research, advocacy, the security of women human rights defenders and cross-border solidarity, according to its manager, Beatrice Newland. It notably produced two national reports on threats facing human rights defenders and drew up advocacy plans.
