Burkinabè doctors Nestor Pingwindé Sam and Josué Delwendé Delma have launched ViimSanté, an application designed to facilitate prescriptions, insurance forms and medical record management. Entirely developed in Burkina Faso, the solution aims to ease procedures for patients and healthcare professionals, Lefaso reports.

ViimSanté, a digital solution designed in Burkina Faso, aims to facilitate medical prescriptions, the management of insurance forms and the processing of records among the players in the healthcare chain, Lefaso reports. The project was developed by doctor and digital health expert Nestor Pingwindé Sam and pharmacist and health systems expert Josué Delwendé Delma.

During the platform’s presentation, Josué Delwendé Delma discussed the difficulties faced by patients covered by insurance, particularly when they have to go to a pharmacy after a consultation. The application is intended, in particular, to reduce travel linked to the care pathway.

Nestor Pingwindé Sam said the tool aims to improve prescription monitoring and coordination between professionals, without replacing them. He presented ViimSanté as a contribution to modernising the health system, within the framework of the Popular Progressive Revolution.

The initiative comes amid other Burkinabè digital projects, including the SenMoto motorcycle sales platform, presented on 3 October, and the listing of 208 solutions by the Le Faso Digital competition, published on 1 October.
