The Burkina Faso Energy Council (CBE) launched the second edition of its “Energy Café” in Ouagadougou, focusing on mentoring women in the energy sector. The event, held on Friday 23 October 2026, aims in particular to support about 100 young women in their careers, according to Eva Marie Blanche Kantiono, chair of the organising committee, cited by Burkina 24.
Over 48 hours, participants take part in panel discussions, exchanges with mentors and personal development coaching sessions. The programme also includes advocacy with institutions to facilitate women’s access to technical and financial support. Each selected participant is to be paired with a mentor, male or female, who will guide her professional development.
The director general of mines and energy, Koutou Alidou, praised the initiative, saying it could promote women’s leadership and the social and professional integration of young women through the experience of seasoned professionals.
