Prince William, heir to the British throne, has revealed that he considered becoming a DJ when he was younger, before accepting that his royal duties would shape his future. He made the revelation on Friday 23 October on the BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, according to Reuters, while promoting the Earthshot environmental prize.
William also spoke of his admiration for filmmaker Christopher Nolan and his The Dark Knight trilogy. He said his family enjoyed watching the reality TV show The Celebrity Traitors, and that films and music helped him relax.
Established by the prince in 2021, the Earthshot Prize rewards solutions to environmental challenges. Five winners each receive £1 million. William said he wanted to counter the pessimism that often accompanies environmental debate with a message of optimism. The 2026 ceremony is due to take place in Mumbai, India, next month.
