The Egyptian National Alliance for Civil Society Work and Development is to welcome nine new institutions and associations, following approval by President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. The expansion broadens membership of the national body dedicated to civil society work and development, according to Egyptian newspaper Al-Youm al-Sabia.

Nine institutions and associations have joined the Egyptian National Alliance for Civil Society Work and Development, following approval by President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and the adoption of Presidential Decree No. 374 of 2026, according to the alliance. Their admission is governed by the law and regulations governing the coalition of civil society organisations.

The expansion is intended to bring more associations with varied experience into the alliance and strengthen its capacity to implement its development programmes. It also aims to widen the scope of its work and better coordinate the efforts of civil society organisations, which the alliance describes as a pillar of national social security.
