Namibia’s ministry of international relations and trade recorded 66.85 billion Namibian dollars in investments linked to 28 projects, associated with 9,343 permanent jobs. The figures, presented in September 2026, cover several sectors and do not allow the direct impact of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s trade missions to be isolated, according to the Windhoek Observer.

Namibia has recorded 66.85 billion Namibian dollars in investments across 28 projects, associated with the creation of 9,343 permanent jobs. The projects cover agriculture, mining, renewable energy, tourism, real estate and digital services, among other sectors, according to figures presented in September 2026 by Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Namibia’s minister of international relations and trade, reports the Windhoek Observer.

The figures do not establish what share of the investments has actually been disbursed or what proportion stems directly from President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s trade missions. Since taking office in March 2025, the head of state has pursued initiatives in Africa, Asia and the United States to attract capital, open export markets and develop partnerships in mining, energy, agriculture, industry, tourism and infrastructure.

During her state visit to China in July 2026, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah secured eight cooperation agreements on green minerals, economic cooperation and training. Trade between Namibia and China reached 40.64 billion Namibian dollars in 2025, with a Namibian surplus of 4.8 billion, according to government figures. The figures come as Namibia is already assessing the implementation of 8.5 billion Namibian dollars in investments.
