Insiders cite new parties around Edwin Sifuna

Members of the Linda Mwananchi movement have raised the prospect of forming new political parties around Edwin Sifuna, Nairobi senator. The moves come ahead of Kenya’s 2027 election, while officials reject fresh claims linked to the UPP, according to Tuko.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is said to have several political party options ahead of Kenya’s 2027 general election. A source close to the Linda Mwananchi political team, cited by TUKO.co.ke, said the politician would not be limited in his political choices.

The United Democratic Party (UDP) could be renamed the Ukombozi Party of Kenya to support Sifuna’s ambitions in 2027. The Linda Mwananchi team has also identified about two parties that could receive their final registration before the end of the month, according to the same source.
