Guinea’s Directorate-General of Elections has received the financial commission’s proposals on the deposit and spending ceiling for the 20 December 2026 senatorial elections. No new deposit will be required from candidates in the 29 November regional elections because regional councillors are chosen from communal councillors already subject to this requirement, Georges Abraham Sorry told Guinéenews.

The financial commission tasked with proposing the deposit and campaign spending ceiling for Guinea’s senatorial elections submitted its report to the Directorate-General of Elections after three days of work, from 15 to 17 October 2026. A deposit is planned for the senatorial elections, but not for the regional elections, Guineenews reports.

The regional elections are scheduled for 29 November 2026 and the senatorial elections for 20 December 2026. Established on 15 October, the commission worked under the supervision of its chair, who praised the support provided by the Directorate-General of Elections’ teams, according to Guineenews.
