Guinean Sports Minister Cellou Baldé announced that work on the Stade du 28-Septembre would continue after its temporary re-approval by CAF. The work is intended to secure the venue’s final approval, he told the press in Conakry, according to Guinee7.com.

The return of Guinea’s national team, the Syli National, to Conakry’s Stade du 28-Septembre is a step forward after several years of matches played abroad, Guinean Sports Minister Cellou Baldé said. He was speaking in Nongo, 48 hours after the venue was temporarily re-approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), a decision announced by CAF.

Cellou Baldé also discussed the next steps concerning the Stade du 28-Septembre and the situation of Nongo’s Stade Général Lansana Conté. According to the minister, the obligation to host opponents abroad had notably incurred financial costs for the Guinean state.
