Fallou Doumbouya, the public prosecutor at the Conakry Court of Appeal, called for security forces to act against criminal networks and drug trafficking. His directive targets crime hotspots, abandoned buildings, places where stolen goods are sold, and drug sales and consumption sites, according to Africaguinee.com.
Fallou Doumbouya, the public prosecutor at the Conakry Court of Appeal, ordered security forces on Thursday 22 October 2026 to step up the fight against criminal networks and drug trafficking in the Guinean capital. His requisition, based on Article 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code, calls on the special gendarmerie and Conakry police to act “without delay” and in coordination with the relevant prosecutors, Africaguinee.com reports.
Operations are to target crime hotspots, abandoned buildings and construction sites used as hideouts, places where stolen goods are sold, and sites where narcotics and psychotropic substances are sold, trafficked or consumed. Law enforcement officers are to identify these locations using specific intelligence and objective findings, with the support of local authorities and municipal councils.
The requisition provides for the interruption of offences, the dismantling of illegal facilities, the clearing of targeted areas and the arrest of people suspected of being perpetrators, co-perpetrators or accomplices, before they are brought before the courts. Fallou Doumbouya requires the use of public force to remain “strictly necessary and proportionate” and calls for regular reports on the operations.
The instruction comes a day after Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya announced a reshuffle of the judiciary on 21 October according to the reshuffle announcement.
