Egypt will simplify procedures for obtaining industrial licences and speed up their approval, Industry Minister Khaled Hashem announced on Friday 23 October. The government wants to reduce the administrative obstacles faced by manufacturers and improve investment conditions, he told Extra News.

The minister also announced new measures to facilitate factories’ acquisition of insurance documents from the Ten-Year Insurance Pool, Egypt’s ten-year insurance scheme. These measures are intended to reduce investors’ financial and administrative burdens, speed up project implementation and allow industrial units to begin production more quickly. Khaled Hashem also said that the digitisation of procedures would be expanded and that universities would participate in Egypt Forum 2026 by putting forward proposals for the industrial sector.
