The special prosecutor at the Conakry Children's Court, Cé Avis Gamy, has announced daytime and night-time patrols in the streets, hotels and leisure venues of the Guinean capital. The measure targets the circulation of sexual videos involving minors and pupils being outside schools during lessons, according to his statement.
The special prosecutor at the Conakry Children's Court, Dr Cé Avis Gamy, has ordered the strengthening of daytime and night-time patrols in the Guinean capital in response to the circulation of sexual videos involving minors and the presence of pupils in the streets during school hours, reports Visionguinee.
The magistrate asked OPROGEM, the Office for the Protection of Gender, Children and Morals, and the relevant central department to intensify checks. He reminded parents and guardians of their duty to supervise children, and schools of their obligation to monitor pupils’ attendance and report unjustified absences. Failures that could give rise to legal liability will be examined in accordance with the legislation in force, he warned.
Dr Cé Avis Gamy believes that the reported behaviour may constitute offences under the criminal code, the children's code and the rules governing Guinea's education system. He said they undermine children's dignity, integrity and safety.
The announcement comes after the appointment, on 21 October, of new leaders at three courts in Conakry, including the leaders of three courts in Conakry. The previous day, a media library equipped for 3,000 pupils opened in the capital.
