DR Congo club AS Maniema Union host Kabuscorp SC in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. After winning the first leg 4-1, the Congolese club must protect its advantage at the Martyrs Stadium, according to Times of Eswatini.

AS Maniema Union, a top-flight Congolese club, host Angolan side Kabuscorp SC on Sunday aiming to preserve the 4-1 advantage they gained in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League. Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm at the Martyrs Stadium, according to the Congolese club.

Eswatini international midfielder Junior Magagula, who joined Maniema Union in July on a three-year contract, can qualify for the competition’s group stage with his teammates. Coach Mauril Njoya described the match as a confirmation game that would depend on his players’ performance.

The Congolese team received a bye in the previous round and intends to build on its emphatic victory in Angola. For Magagula, qualification would extend his continental campaign just weeks after joining the club. It would follow Maniema Union’s 4-1 victory over Kabuscorp and its qualification, already reported by CAF.

The continental campaign of fellow Eswatini international Kwakhe Thwala, however, ended on 23 October. His club Scottland, Zimbabwe’s champions, lost 3-0 to Petro de Luanda, who qualified 3-2 on aggregate after overturning a two-goal first-leg deficit.
