Kamilla Riekerts, 34, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a flat in Otjiwarongo, Namibia. Otjozondjupa police say she was last seen with her former partner, who later died in a car accident near Swakopmund; the investigation is continuing.

Kamilla Riekerts, a 34-year-old Namibian woman, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a flat in Otjiwarongo, The Namibian reports, citing police in the Otjozondjupa region. Police spokesperson Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha said the wounds suggested the victim had been attacked with a knife.

According to initial investigations, Riekerts was last seen at noon on 24 October with her former partner, Jovin Diergaardt, who is said to have taken her to his flat. Diergaardt later travelled to Swakopmund and died on Sunday in a road accident about 15 kilometres from the town towards Arandis. Police are investigating the possibility that he deliberately crashed his car, Maureen Mbeha said.

Otjozondjupa police said investigators were continuing their inquiries. The case comes after the alleged murder of two young girls and the alleged rape of another child were reported in Namibia in October.
