Spain exported 161,000 tonnes of diesel to Morocco in August 2026, while no Moroccan deliveries to the Spanish market were recorded. Spanish exports rose by 94% in one month to their highest level since January, according to CORES data cited by El Debate.

Spanish diesel exports to Morocco reached 161,000 tonnes in August 2026, compared with 83,000 tonnes in July, an increase of 78,000 tonnes in one month. At the same time, Spain imported no diesel from Morocco, according to statistics from Spanish body CORES cited by El Debate and reported by Bladi.

Morocco absorbed 24.2% of the diesel exported by Spain in August, ahead of France, with 108,000 tonnes, and Portugal, with 94,000 tonnes. Moroccan deliveries to Spain had already fallen to 7,000 tonnes in July, after 74,000 tonnes in May and 53,000 tonnes in June. Between January and July, however, they had totalled 222,000 tonnes, exceeding the volume recorded for all of 2025.

Including petrol, liquefied petroleum gas, kerosene and other petroleum products, Spanish exports to Morocco reached 271,000 tonnes in August, compared with 180,000 tonnes in July. The kingdom thus became the leading foreign market for Spanish petroleum products during the month, ahead of France and Portugal, according to Bladi.
