Its steering council is calling on supporters to remain mobilised for credible elections after talks with the executive, the Interior Ministry and the electoral commission failed, according to its statement.

The Sahwanya-Frodebu party, a Burundian movement descended from the hero of democracy, has decided not to field a candidate in the presidential election scheduled for 3 May 2027.
