Rugby: Francke Horn returns to Lions starting line-up

Francke Horn, captain of Johannesburg’s Lions rugby team, returns to the starting line-up for their United Rugby Championship match against Edinburgh after missing the previous game. The South African club will face the league leaders on Friday, while assistant coach Julian Redelinghuys praised the support received following the death of second-row Hyron Andrews, according to IOL.

Lions captain Francke Horn is back in the starting line-up for Friday’s United Rugby Championship match against Edinburgh, after missing last weekend’s Champions Cup game against La Rochelle. His return comes after the death of second-row Hyron Andrews in France last week, reports South African outlet IOL.

Batho Hlekani is also named in the back row, replacing Siba Qoma, who is following the protocol required after a head knock. Nico Steyn will start at scrum-half. Prop Boan Venter, who played for Edinburgh for nearly five seasons, has given the Lions information about their opponents’ players, coaching staff and playing conditions.

Lions assistant coach Julian Redelinghuys praised the support received from the international rugby community after Andrews’ death. He said the tribute and the way the team had come through this difficult period had helped provide them with some comfort.
