Vladimir Putin says Russia is willing to resume negotiations with Ukraine and the United States to reach a definitive peace agreement, rather than a temporary ceasefire. The discussions would address security guarantees for both countries, according to remarks reported by 7sur7.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Moscow was ready to resume three-way negotiations with Ukraine and the United States to reach a definitive peace agreement, rather than a short-term ceasefire, according to Senego, which cited remarks he made to a state television journalist. He said the discussions would address security guarantees for Ukraine and Russia.

The position follows Putin’s agreement to talks with Kyiv and Washington, announced on 21 October. Moscow also raised the possibility on 22 October of a resumption of talks around 10 November in Abu Dhabi, while the Russian president has already said he is ready to negotiate a final agreement with Ukraine and the United States.
