More than 50 Ugandan tourism professionals began a familiarisation visit to the Kenyan coast on 21 October 2026, organised to introduce them to the local tourism offer, Tuko reports. The delegation includes tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and travel influencers. Uganda’s Consulate General in Mombasa organised the trip with Kenyan coastal tourism stakeholders.
Over several days, the visitors are due to tour Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale and Taita Taveta counties, including their beaches, marine parks, heritage sites and hotels. The aim is for them to promote holidays on the Kenyan coast to Ugandan travellers and build working relationships with their Kenyan counterparts, according to Tuko.
Some of the delegation will take part on 24 October in the Uganda–Kenya Coast Golf Open at the Vipingo Ridge resort. The visit precedes the fifth Uganda–Kenya Coast Tourism and Innovation Summit, scheduled for 26 and 27 October at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa in Mombasa.
Ambassador Herbert Kiguli, Uganda’s Consul General in Mombasa, said the visit was intended to make regional integration tangible by allowing Ugandan professionals to discover tourism products they could offer in their country, according to Tuko.
