The National Agency for Standardisation, Metrology and Quality Control found non-compliant weights on more than a hundred gas cylinders in Djougou and Natitingou, in Atacora-Donga. The inspection is part of market surveillance overseen by the Ministry of Internal Trade, according to Matinlibre.

More than a hundred gas cylinders with non-compliant weights were seized in Djougou and Natitingou, Benin, during inspections carried out since the beginning of the week by the National Agency for Standardisation, Metrology and Quality Control (ANM). Weighing at several service stations showed a discrepancy between the weights indicated on the cylinders and the quantities actually supplied to consumers.

These operations are part of market surveillance entrusted to the Ministry of Internal Trade by the Beninese government, which is behind the ANM’s unannounced visits to service stations.
