Umodzi Holdings chief executive Kamlepo Kalua says he remains in office despite a suspension announced by the Malawian company’s board. Board chair Geobra Kamanga says the decision was communicated to him and that he wants to discuss Kalua’s conduct, according to Malawivoice.

Kamlepo Kalua, chief executive of Umodzi Holdings in Malawi, is disputing his suspension and says he is continuing to perform his duties, Malawivoice reports. “As far as I know, I am not suspended. I continue to work,” he told NationOnline.

This position contradicts that of Geobra Kamanga, chair of the board, who confirmed the executive’s suspension. Kalua also said he planned to publish a performance report in the coming days and claimed the company was making progress, according to NationOnline.
