Libya’s National Oil Corporation plans to complete the installation of associated gas recovery equipment at the offshore Bouri field by the end of October, with a stated capacity of around 100 million cubic feet a day. The project is intended to supply the domestic market and power generation, while reducing CO₂ emissions by 1.5 million tonnes a year, according to the NOC.

Libya’s state oil company, the National Oil Corporation (NOC), plans to recover around 100 million cubic feet of associated gas a day from the offshore Bouri field, the company announced. The project, run by Mellitah Oil & Gas, is intended to reduce gas flaring and is expected to reach its completion phase by the end of October 2026.

The NOC said the recovery plant, surface equipment, pipelines and necessary infrastructure are being finalised. The volume recovered is expected to reach the equivalent of 25 billion cubic feet a year, according to the company.

The operation follows the NOC’s preparations for processing 100 million cubic feet of gas from Bouri, announced on 8 October 2026. The latest stage concerns the completion of the project’s operational procedures and equipment, Libya Herald reports.
