The Libyan Export Development Authority is convening exporters in Tripoli to examine the consequences of the general export ban imposed by the Economy Ministry. The meeting is intended to gather their proposals and seek sector-specific exceptions, reports Libya Herald.
The Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) will bring together exporters and managers of exporting companies at its Tripoli headquarters on Wednesday 14 October to examine the consequences of recent decisions suspending export operations, according to LEDA. Participants will be able to present their difficulties, observations and proposals.
LEDA says it wants to protect exporters’ interests and maintain access for Libyan products to international markets. The agency says it is seeking practical solutions to obstacles affecting the sector, following the general ban on sales abroad.
