Kim Sangjun, country director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, inspected a school health centre and three classrooms in Boundiali funded with UNICEF. The facilities are intended to improve young people’s access to healthcare and increase capacity at Ibrahima Koné High School, according to AIP.

Kim Sangjun, country director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Côte d’Ivoire, visited a school and university health centre for adolescents in Boundiali on 21 October 2026, as well as three classrooms at Ibrahima Koné High School. The visit, attended by the secretary-general of the prefecture, Alain Djédjé, was part of the monitoring of infrastructure funded by KOICA and built with UNICEF, according to the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP).

The centre is intended to improve adolescents’ and young people’s access to appropriate health services, while the new classrooms increase the school’s capacity. Construction began on 10 November 2023 under a cooperation programme between KOICA and UNICEF covering the Poro, Tchologo and Bagoué regions.

The programme, funded to the tune of $9.5 million, or about 5.55 billion CFA francs, also provides for the rehabilitation of classrooms, training for young people who have dropped out of school, and the strengthening of health services for adolescents, AIP reports.

The visit comes two days after ECOWAS rehabilitated three classrooms in Koffi-Badoukro, announced on 19 October 2026.
